Bring on the Rainbows!! Layla Holographic Effect ~ Ultra Violet

Hellooo!!!  How's everything?? All is well on this end thankfully :) I'm so super excited about a few things - nail related... I just bought my 1st starter Konad Kit last weekend!!!!!!!!!  It came complete with 2 mini nail polishes, 1 plate, a scraper & a stamper & I bought an additional plate as well.  I'll post pics soon of that as well as the additional 3 plates I bought this weekend.  Hell, I'll be showing you my first Konad FAIL too.  LOL

But today, we're gonna go for a ride on a pretty little rainbow - brought to us courtesy of Layla Holographic Effect Nail Polish in Ultra Violet.... ooooooo rainbows...

1st Shot - Indoor Lighting
2nd Shot - a little movement there ;)
LOVE this pic!  The tips look like they're on FIRE
Close up of the rainbow... so pretty

I LOVED this nail polish & have worn it a few times since I first got it.  If there's not a ton of light hitting it, it looks like a very light lavender.  But when the sun does hit it - put on your shades.  They are blindingly beautiful <3 Every.single.color.of.the.rainbow.  I only have 4 colors from this 1st round of Holographic nail polishes (2nd round of Holo's to come soon!!! Can't wait!) & what I do have I absolutely adore.  Here's what I thought:

1st up - APPLICATION:  The key to these are thin coats - which to be honest, can be extremely difficult for me.  I find the more I do them the better I get.  Thin coats that don't overlap each other with each stroke really are the best to prevent any sort of balding.  Luckily the coats dry very quickly!
2nd - COVERAGE:  Very good.  It took me 4 coats to get all coats even.
3rd - WEAR:  Since I never top off Holo's with any sort of top coat I'm kinda jerked from a nice extended wear.  I got 2-3 days before I took it off.  When I say "extended wear" I mean I could have let this go for a few more days before I removed it, but any little nick, or chip I see I use as an excuse to do another mani.  I shameless.  LOL

So yeah, Holo's are on my "Things I Love" list, 3rd only to my Son & Husband. LOL... kidding... kinda... no, not really :) Ciao!

Feelin' Sexay with Essie ~ Sexy Divide

Hello Dears :) How are you?  Hope all is well.  I finally got to organizing my nail polishes ::read as Hubby is EXTREMELY grateful I got to it:: & realized I have a nice amount of Essie.  One color I was missing that I had always wanted was Essie's Sexy Divide... I actually came across it late last week & decided to bite the bullet & get it!  Boy am I glad I did...

Perhaps the most beautiful true purple I've ever laid eyes on...
Glowing...
Reddish & blue tiny shimmer particles
This is an oldie but a goodie from the Essie 2008 Winter Collection.  It's a gorgeous deeeeep purple but not so deep it looks black.  It has some pretty shimmers in it which I LOVE, it gives it such a nice depth, not your run of the mill flat color.  It's almost like it glows because of the pinkish/reddish shimmer.  It's sophisticated, sexy & bold... I love me some purples & this is certainly one I'll be hitting up again & again!!  I picked this lovey up at CVS for $8.00.  Hope you enjoyed it!

Pretty in Purple - Butter London ~ No More Waity, Katie

Good Evening!  Hope all is well in your neck of the woods... my neck of the woods has been disgustingly hot, hot, hot.  I'm really not a fan of the Summer. Even when you're naked you're hot - at least when you're cold you can make yourself warm.  Having to take the subway to & from work does not help my tolerance level for heat.  Yuck!  But ya gotta love NY!  Anywho, this is a quick swatch of Butter London's ~ No More Waity, Katie.  Apologies for not being able to clean up some of my fingers, this was done before a mad dash to pack my bags & pick up my Son from daycare.  But there's always time for a little swatch right? :)

Indoor Lighting - closer look
Pretty Color - messy finger
This was done with 4 coats of No More Waity, Katie, over a Seche Base coat, topped with 1 coat of Gelous & 1 coat of Poshe.  NMWK is a really beautiful color, it's a grey lavender, with some beautiful light lavender glitter suspended in it.  I didn't have any issues with glitter moving as I applied the coats (AWESOME), they went on very smoothly & evenly & dried fairly quickly.  I used 4 coats to get to the opacity I desired.  I'm really drawn to Purples & this is certainly a shade of purple I had not possessed - until now... MUAHAHAHAHAHAAAA!!!  I scooped this Little Miss up at Ulta for $14.00 as part of my "Mini-Haul" a week or 2 ago & I'm so glad to call it mine.
